The increased use of the cloud, Software as a Service (SaaS), and mobile devices and their integration with Web APIs and REST services is currently a major challenge.

REST services are based on formats such as JSON, XML and Atom Pub and are provided using hyperlinks and HTTP methods.

Our RESTful Adapter gives you an advantage in publishing these REST Services & APIs with SAP Process Integration/Orchestration to integrate SAP as well as non-SAP systems or BPMN processes.

The RESTful Adapter also supports the OpenaPI 3.0 and Swagger 2.0 API description formats for sender and receiver channels.

Kafka Adapter for SAP PO

Apache Kafka is a popular open source project for processing event-driven data streams based on a transaction log.

Kafka clusters are often used in Big Data projects that value the combination of fault tolerance, high scalability and durability, and low latency when processing real-time data streams.

The Kafka Adapter for PO allows you to integrate your SAP landscape with Apache Kafka.

Our current version of the adapter supports:

  • Publishing PO messages as Kafka records.
  • Subscribing Kafka records as PO messages from 1..n topics.
  • Reading of beginning, end or arbitrary positions in Kafka streams.
  • Payload transformation between XML and JSON, AVRO, Protocol buffers and vice versa
  • Support of freestyle Avro schemas as well as Avro schema registries (e.g.: on confluent.io or self-hosted)
  • Common security options like PLAIN, PLAIN_SASL, SASL_SSL, SASL-Plain/SASL-SCRAM as well as client certificate authentication.
  • Dynamic Kafka record header read and write
  • Dynamic topic/partition or key information read and write
  • Deduplication of already processed Kafka data records via XI deduplication
  • Message batching, merging many Kafka records into one SAP PO message

The adapter works completely with SAP PO on-board tools for configuration or monitoring and does not require external tools for certificate management or AVRO schemas.

Azure cloud has recently become the new option for many companies for “pay as you go” implementation of new IT services with low operational costs.

GraphQL is a query language for selecting structured data, which is increasingly used for APIs.

With GraphQL, a client can select the fields and entities he needs for his use case based on a defined schema. This is one of the main differences to “tranditional” APIs, where the maximum set of fields must always be defined regardless of the client’s usage.

The GraphQL Adapter for SAP PO allows you to call popular SaaS or self-hosted GraphQL services from SAP PO without much development effort.

The adapter uses a generator to conveniently create the counterpart as PO internal WSDL from a GraphQL schema. The PO developer can therefore safely and easily consume GraphQL services using the usual development methodology.

Our current version of the adapter supports:

  • Calling GraphQL services of any type as a receiver channel.
  • Common authentication methods such as API key, AWS IAM and Basic Authentication
  • Generation of XML schemas for GraphQL schemas
